Wasn't sure what pic to use, but since motherhood is what prompted this post, figured this one would do. |
Apparently at some point, women may need to CHOOSE between the two. That is, after we think about it, if we don't already have to.
So. Saw this link: The Supreme Court Will Decide if A Woman Has The Right To Work While Pregnant. Whaaat?!
As I said before, even today throughout the will of the divine, nature, or science, a woman needs not a man, only his seed to carry on life. I have yet to meet a man who can do the same.
Hell, they can't even manage to pay women equally; now they want to take away the work all together?
I don't have the answers. In a perfect world, everyone would have fulfilling good paying jobs, that honored another life coming into the world. Everyone would value their employees, whether they choose to have kids or not.
Couples would share equally caregiving, breadwinning, and domestic maintenance.
Everyone would realize that to some degree, it does take a village to raise a child into a productive adult.
Kids would always show gratitude and appreciation.
Peace on Earth, goodwill to all.
Most people, women and men, work because they need to; and this especially holds true when you have kids.
Like I said, I don't have the answers. Just somehow, a law that takes away the right to work, and earn pay, while a woman is pregnant, seems counterproductive.
But hey, it's Washington.
