From the Internet |
You know what I'm talking about.
Everybody enjoys being right more often than wrong. Particularly parents. Once their little bundles of joy are able to express opinions on anything; the parent's joy of being acknowledged as an authority on anything dwindles.
I have often held the belief (Words of Wisdom #13) that in life, it is more often important to get along, rather than to prove that you're right about an issue. When it's important, to express and pound through, what is right over what is wrong; it is important to be loud.
This may be one of those times. This morning, when I saw this headline: "Exlusive: Biden himself leaked word of his son's dying wish"
my ick feeling returned.
Big time.
If you don't know what I'm talking about, you can check out Thinking About Joe, and for even more explanation, It's Friday Again.
Are you familiar with the Sandra Bullock movie, While You Were Sleeping? This kind of reminds me of, when towards the end of the movie, Peter, (played by Peter Gallagher) the original object of Lucy's affections, reveals to his brother Jack, (Bill Pullman) that for a childhood hero story, where he supposedly saved a family of squirrels, he unbeknownst to all, first knocked the squirrels out of their nest with a rock. Jack replies, "Ech." Peter even thinks he's eating peanut butter swirl ice cream, until it's revealed that it's fudge mint. The point is, he's a "putz".
He's a golden boy. Looks good on the surface, and all decisions are for maintaining that image. First and foremost.
Calculated. Manipulative. Cold.
Another factor that I find troublesome, is that not very many people who are paid to report the news are talking about this.
October 13th is the first Democratic Debate, and will be hosted by CNN. I have heard that even though VP Biden has not yet entered the race, and will not be at that debate, CNN is going to have a podium open; just in case.
HOW MUCH DO YOU WANT TO BET THAT BIDEN SHOWS UP?
FURTHERMORE; THAT THE DEBATE WILL BE WHERE HE ANNOUNCES THAT HE IS INDEED RUNNING.
Crass? Perhaps.
I'm just lil ol' me.
But...
one of my all time Pet Peeves, is being played, manipulated, and figured for a foregone conclusion. Don't like feeling like a puppet. Especially when I find out the puppet master was someone I trusted.
Somewhere there is advice: While it may be scary at times to trust your conscience (aka: your gut); it is always disastrous not to.
I simply cannot ignore my conscience, what I know is right;
even if VP Joe Biden can.
